Eight of Swords

Volgens het boek

A woman is loosely bound and surrounded by swords, symbolizing being trapped and immobilized by a situation. She seems to sway and moan, bewailing her situation without making any real progress. In front of her there is an opening in the circle of swords, representing a means of escape. Far above her, on a hill, a castle is silhouetted by the moon.

This card represents a situation in which you feel helpless. Problems surround you. You feel trapped and that no matter where you look, danger, obstacles, and problems confront you. The card also suggests that while the situation probably is as bad as you think, escape is possible.

If reversed, this card suggests that the feeling of entrapment is in your mind. You thought about things in such a way that they've become traps and dangers, but they either arent real or aren't what you've made them out to be.

Use your intuition

  • Is the castle a place of safety or something else she needs to escape?
  • The swords are embellished with gold leaves. What do they symbolize?
